Requesting a prescription
You can request a prescription by phone on 01788 522448, or - for repeat prescriptions - through the NHS App or the Patient Access App. Download these Apps, if you haven't got one of them already.

How long will it take?
It takes two working days to prepare a prescription. In an emergency, if you need a prescription more urgently, we will always try to help but can’t guarantee to do so and in any case will prioritise according to clinical need. Some medications, like creams or statin tablets, or new medications recommended at non-emergency hospital or private appointments, are never high priority.
Nominate a Pharmacy
We can send your prescription directly to your specified High Street pharmacy, online pharmacy or surgical appliance provider. You need to nominate which pharmacy you want to use, but you only need to do this once. If you need to collect an online prescription from a different pharmacy, for example while you are away from home, you can change your nomination through the NHS App (remember to use the App to switch back to your usual pharmacy after you have collected your prescription – otherwise your prescriptions will continue to go to the new pharmacy).
