Your records and results

You can see your GP medical records since October 2022, whenever you want, through the NHS App. We can usually help with simple enquiries from before that (just ask reception), but to see your detailed records from before October 2022 you can ask for a print-out – you’ll need to complete a Subject Access Request form, available from reception. We’ll prepare your print-out, usually within 1 month, for you to collect from the surgery (unfortunately we can’t post medical records or send them by email). We can’t send detailed records directly to a third party such as an insurer or solicitor but you can, of course, show your print-out to whomever you want.

You can also see your GP test results in the NHS App, available as soon as your doctor has been able to review them (usually the next day, but it can sometimes take a few days for all the results to come in so the GP can assess the full picture). Unfortunately you won’t be able to see the results of blood tests or scans requested by the hospital as these aren’t shared with your GP - you’ll need to wait for your hospital doctor to write to you or (more usually) tell you the results at your next appointment.
