Warwickshire Police are now requesting a face-to-face medical exam for any firearm licence or renewal if the applicant has ever had any mental health problem, drug or alcohol abuse - even if decades ago. Simple applications (without any mental health, drug or alcohol problems) don't need to be seen by a GP and will now cost £30. Those needing a GP appointment will cost £60.
